Just when you thought Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers, had zipped up his change purse and put it away until next summer; it seems there could yet be another new name for reds fans to remember when the new season kicks off next week.
Rodgers has spent the last two summers revitalising his squad with nothing to show for it in terms of trophies but that doesn't seem to be dampening his enthusiasm for spending cash. The 32 million GBP capture of striker, Christian Benteke, was thought to signal the end of this particular shopping spree. But as the full squad trained together for the first time following a pre-season tour to Asia there was another name on everybody's lips. 18 year old Brazilian, Allan Rodrigues de Souza, has been on the Liverpool radar for sometime after he impressed during the U18 Frenz International Cup in January and was a surprise addition to the training session at Melwood yesterday.
The youngster is yet to officially sign for the Anfield club but it is thought that a deal worth around 500,000 GBP will be tied up soon. It isn't Liverpool's most glamourous signing this transfer window but by the looks of this kids skills it could end up being a fantastic long term investment.
